Let’s Help International (LHI) offers English classes for newcomers in Edmonton, available both in person and online. The program is especially designed for East African newcomers who speak Kinyarwanda, Kinyamulenge, Kirundi, or Swahili, particularly older adults and individuals with little or no English.
Our Unique Approach
Many newcomers who start English classes at conventional schools find it difficult because the teacher speaks English from the beginning, while learners at Level 0 may understand very little English.
LHI provides a mother-language-supported approach. Teachers teach English while explaining difficult words, concepts, instructions, and lessons in languages learners understand, including Kinyarwanda, Kinyamulenge, Kirundi, and Swahili.
This approach helps beginners understand lessons, build confidence, and gradually become comfortable using English.

Learning Pathway
LHI focuses on helping learners complete the basic/beginner level. After completing this foundation, learners can be referred to other English-language schools and programs to continue their English education at a higher level.
