Who Can Volunteer?
We welcome volunteers who are:
- Friendly, patient, and committed to helping others
- Detail-oriented and able to handle sensitive information confidentially
- Interested in learning or using basic tax preparation skills
No prior tax experience is required—training will be provided.
Responsibilities
As a tax volunteer, your responsibilities include:
- Assisting clients with income tax and benefit return preparation
- Ensuring accurate data entry and adherence to CRA guidelines
- Maintaining strict confidentiality of all client information
- Supporting clients with kindness, respect, and professionalism
Volunteer Expectations
Volunteers are expected to:
- Complete CRA CVITP volunteer registration and screening
- Attend onboarding and training sessions by LHI
- Commit to one or more shifts during the 2026 tax season
- Arrive on time and prepared to assist clients
2026 Tax Season
- Start: March 1, 2026
- End: April 30, 2026 (CRA deadline for most individual tax filings)
Early registration helps us plan clinics efficiently and ensure all volunteers are trained in time.
How to Register
To volunteer with LHI, follow these steps:

- When asked to select an organization, choose:
LET’S HELP INTERNATIONAL (LHI) – EDMONTON - After CRA approval, LHI will contact you with:
- Onboarding and training details
- Clinic schedules and shift assignments
