Let’s Help International (LHI) is hosting the “International Conference on Refugee & Newcomer Well-Being 2027,” scheduled for June 26–28, 2027 (10:00 AM – 5:00 PM), in Edmonton, Alberta, at 201 – 17505 107 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada (The Legacy Creative Hub).
Under the theme “Durable Solutions: Building Lasting Pathways to Belonging for Refugees and Newcomers,” this conference will provide a collaborative platform for dialogue, knowledge exchange, and strategic action among organizations, policymakers, practitioners, and community leaders working with refugees and newcomers.
In alignment with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees ( UNHCR) framework on durable solutions, the conference will explore long-term pathways that enable refugees to rebuild their lives in dignity and safety through:
- Voluntary Repatriation (when conditions in countries of origin allow safe and dignified return)
- Local Integration (building inclusive, supportive, and self-reliant communities in host societies)
- Resettlement (for individuals who cannot safely remain in the host country or return home)
The focus will be on practical, community-driven approaches that strengthen inclusion, resilience, and long-term stability for newcomers and refugee populations.
